This study focuses on the structural characterization of 35B₂O₃ + (20-x)Bi₂O₃ + xBaO + 19ZnO + 25TeO₂ + 1V₂O₅ (x = 0, 5, 10, 15) (BBiBa) glass systems, along with a comprehensive discussion of the obtained findings. The melt quenching process was employed to fabricate the glass samples, and several characterisation methods, including FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, EPR, and XRD, were utilised to assess structural features. FTIR and Raman spectra revealed the existence of bismuth oxide, multiple borate, and telluride groups. Optical absorption spectra exhibited bands at 13736 cm-1 and 19881 cm-1, corresponding to the 2B2g→2E2g and 2B2g→2B1g transitions, respectively. As the BaO content increases, the optical band gaps gradually decrease due to the rise in non-bridging oxygen atoms, which significantly influence the electronic structure. The EPR spectra of VO2+ ions exhibited Spin-Hamiltonian parameters satisfying the relation g_∥A_⊥, strongly indicating that the VO2+ ions are situated in octahedral sites with a tetragonal distortion. In BaO, the extent of both increase and degradation diminishes. The molecular orbital coefficients further confirm the predominantly covalent character of the ligand bonds.tr_TR
