dc.description.abstract | The COVID-19 pandemic prompted a shift to online learning in industrial design education. This study analyzes the adaptation of two separate online platforms to interdisciplinary education during the first two years of the lockdown period: Facebook Classrooms in the first year and Microsoft Teams in the second. Surveys conducted with students after each term assessed the platforms' impact on technical instruction, peer interaction, and engagement. The results, derived through Factor Analysis and validated with a reliability score exceeding 0.85, highlight the strengths and limitations of both platforms in general and multidisciplinary industrial design education. Facebook Classrooms enabled flexible, informal collaboration and resource sharing but lacked essential design tools and task management features, limiting its suitability for comprehensive industrial design education. In contrast, Microsoft Teams provided a structured and professional environment with tools for live lectures and real-time feedback, ideal for managing complex projects. However, it also has its disadvantages, primarily due to its complexity and cost. The findings and conclusions presented at the end of the study offer insights into enhancing online teaching methods in hybrid education in various fields. | tr_TR |
