<title>GAMMA Renewal Function in Censored Data</title>
<link>http://dspace.beu.edu.tr:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/13796</link>
<description>GAMMA Renewal Function in Censored Data
Cengiz, Çiğdem; Aydoğdu, Halil
In this study, the renewal process whose times between the intervals are gamma-diffused has been&#13;
examined. In the situation where the sampling is Randomly Right Censored, a Parametric Estimator is&#13;
recommended, which depends on the Maximum Likelihood Estimators of the unknown parameters of the&#13;
gamma diffusion; and the statistical characteristics of these estimators have been investigated.

<title>Thermal Solar Energy Use and Turkey Analysis</title>
<link>http://dspace.beu.edu.tr:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/13795</link>
<description>Thermal Solar Energy Use and Turkey Analysis
Cengiz, Mehmet Sait; Mamiş, Mehmet Salih
Energy is an important problem in Turkey as well as the whole world. Since Turkey has insufficient&#13;
sources in terms of fossil energy sources, it is dependent on foreign. However, Turkey has rich resources&#13;
in terms of solar energy (SE). The European Union countries (EU) try to generalize solar energy through&#13;
promotions performing studies for raising awareness for generation of electricity from the sun. In&#13;
Turkey, required importance is not given to the studies to raise the awareness and promotions In this&#13;
study, the SE investments that will be made in the long turn, the promotions that can be given by the public&#13;
and the economic contributions made to the country are examined by comparing the SE potential of the&#13;
world countries. Assessments on the fact that Spain, as a sample, which has made a move benefitting from&#13;
heat source SE with CSP systems in the last decade and which ranks the 4th in this field in the world can&#13;
be a model for Turkey is included. As a result, analysis and assessments have been made on that Stirling&#13;
Engine Solar Systems that are appropriate for using and generating electricity individually among CSP&#13;
systems should be generalized in Turkey.

<title>City of Bitlis 2014 Air Pollution Emission Inventory</title>
<link>http://dspace.beu.edu.tr:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/13793</link>
<description>City of Bitlis 2014 Air Pollution Emission Inventory
TURP, Sinan Mehmet; TURP, Güldane Aslı
Air pollution adversely affects the lives of all the living, in particular human health. In case its effect&#13;
increases and it continues to harm the living, it will cause countless health issues and this will incur&#13;
economical losses in our country. The use of poor-quality coal leads to an increase in air pollution. The&#13;
coals of this quality used in the city of Bitlis have led to the increase of air pollution. In order to ensure&#13;
air quality, the polluting amounts should be decreased and the national pollution limiting values should&#13;
be such that they are applicable. Monitoring the current pollution state by preparing an emission&#13;
inventory for developing future clean air plans and taking the necessary measures is important for&#13;
laying out the extent of the air pollution problem. Under the Clean Air Action Plan for the City of Bitlis,&#13;
the city was evaluated in respect of its general characteristics and considered with regard to the&#13;
distribution characteristics and effects on human health of the pollutants. The amount of coal consumed&#13;
in Bitlis in 2014 was obtained from Bitlis Directorate of Environment and Urbanization and this value is&#13;
approximately 32802 tons. In 2014, due to coal firing in Bitlis, the amounts released to the atmosphere&#13;
are calculated to be 1178 tons/year for SO2 emission, 105 tons/year for NO2, 124 tons/year for PM10 and&#13;
1316 tons/year for CO.
