Ata, Oğuz; Balık, Hasan H.
Student learning outcomes have been evaluated through graded assignments and tests by most paperbased assessment systems. But computer based assessments have the opportunity to improve the
efficiency of assessments process. Recently internet is widely used in various areas from banking to
trade, from education to entertainment. In this paper, ideas for efficient and fast usage of internet on
education have been suggested and applied to implementation of multiple choice examination system.
There are two contributions to the science in this paper. The first is the implementation of new software
which uses the bandwidth efficiently. The second is to introduce new mechanism for creating question
bank.

This study investigated protective effects of the Laurus nobilis, Arum italicum and Malva sylvestris
extracts on the unsaturated fatty acids and the prevention of lipid peroxidation formation in the fenton
reagent environment. Antioxidative activities of the plant extracts were determined with the following
modifications. Lipid peroxidation level in the Fenton R group was significantly high when compared to
the control group, but lipid peroxidation significantly decreased according to the Fenton R group
(p<0.0001). It was determined that extracts had scavenging effect on the DPPH radical depending on the
increase in the flavonoid concentration. Present results confirm that plants decrease lipid peroxidation
level in the fenton reagent environment and protect markedly unsaturated fatty acids in the
environment with radical sourced oxidations.

Sivrice Fault Zone of the East Anatolia Fault System is seismically active and it often produces
earthquakes in various magnitudes (almost between 2.0-4.5 Md). Recently, we have been monitoring the
existence of soil radon in different four locations of this zone. The radon existence on the fault zone is
slighly higher than other locations. Thus, it is interesting to determine the gross alpha and beta
radioactivity concentrations in the water and soil of the same location where the soil radon monitoring
was done to determine whether there was any correlation between radioactivity concentration and soil
radon or not. Determination of the gross alpha and gross beta radioactivity concentrations were done by
using ZnS (Ag) and beta sensitive plastic detectors, respectively. The obtained results for both
measurements were concluded.

Çelik, Fatih Ahmet
The crystallization process of a amorphous aluminium (Al) containing 2048 atoms is studied with
molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. Amorphous and crystal structure of Al is reproduced by applying
fast cooling treatment and crystal behaviour from amorphous phase by means of MD simulation. The
local order of the system have been analysed by bond orientational order parameters, the radial
distribution functions and atomic coordinates. The simulation results also show that there are
transformations from a disordered structure to a stable crystal phase during the crystallization.
